Letter to Newark

Dear Newark Community,
It is my honor and privilege to serve the residents of the great City of Newark in my role as the Executive Director of the Brick City Peace Collective, a division of the City of Newark’s Office of Violence Prevention and Trauma Recovery. My commitment to you is to is to work together to successfully implement a citywide community-based violence intervention and prevention strategy in support of the current violence reduction initiative launched by Mayor Ras J Baraka in 2014.
Brick City Peace Collective (BCPC) will identify and support qualified agencies to contract with to provide community-based outreach workers, high risk interventionist and community health workers to provide conflict resolution and mediation services, violence interruptions, safe passage, victims services, trauma recovery service, domestic violence services, community engagement and wrap around support services through a trauma informed lens to residents of the City of Newark who are at risk of experiencing violence or perpetrator of violence.
Our dedication to improving the quality of life for Newark residents is unwavering. Together we can decrease violence, change lives, and create a safer, stronger future for all.
